Virginia teaches using the Salzedo method. The method, developed by harpist and composer
Carlos Salzedo and expounded by Lucile Lawrence emphasis a high quality production of
sound, while maintaining the relaxation necessary to avoid injuries.
Lessons are generally one hour long, and conducted at the Alna studio. Lever harps are available
for rental.
Virginia has been teaching privately since 1985. She has taught students from ages 5 to 75. One of her
students recently finished 2nd in national competition, and two students are currently attending college
to pursue Music Education careers.
